Former H.O.T Member Tony An Comeback With Idol Group Smash
The original idol group H.O.T member Tony An is to comeback with his idol group Smash.
Star News reported on February 23, Tony An will be joining Smash as one of their members starting from their new album in March. Smash is restructured to be a six-member group. He is the main producer of the album.
The news comes after Tony An’s tweet on January 31 hinting at a possibility of a new group, “Surprise! I will be making a return with a group for the first time in 8 years~ wow it’s been so long. We’ve been working, practicing, and recording together every day.”
Tony An debuted in 1996 with H.O.T under SM Entertainment to become a legendary boy group. The group disbanded in 2001, then joined by two former H.O.T members, Jang Woo Hyuk and Jee Jae Wom formed jtL that remained together until 2004. After then he has remained as a solo artist.
Smash debuted under TN Entertainment headed by Tony An in 2008. The group made headlines and publicity as Tony An’s idol group as he produced, directed the whole album. The group released five singles and full album in Japan and placed number 5 on Oricon Weekly.
